Tarot, Rider-Waite-Smith

I took a couple of pictures for one of my websites, and I was so happy with how they came out I threw them up on unsplash.com.

I think this is going to be one of those years that the Yule trees stay up until Imbolc.

Tarot, silly

Oh, my bad! I was using this deck. 😆

Tarot, career change

The number of times the Tower has come up with this career change decision may be unnerving for some (including me), but it's also very apropos for a career transition. I can't become a new person unless I'm willing to overcome (destroy) past limitations and beliefs of who I thought I was and what I was capable of.

Or perhaps I'm stubbornly clinging to the path I believe I'm supposed to be on and heading straight to ruin.

Nah!

What's my card of the day?

I bet it's the 4 of Swords.

Called it!

Tarot

Today's card is the 10 of Wands. Usually my response is "oh no! Burden! Burnout! Aaaa!" But today I'm optimistic that this is a positive message that I'll slowly and patiently bear my burdens through the day and not be crushed by them, that the workday will not ruin me today. The last couple of days of teaching have been exhausting and overwhelming. Today will be better.

I want to preach on Isaiah 43:19 and I want to title the sermon "And Now for Something Completely Different..."

Maundy Thursday, in the quiet of my room, alone, yet not alone, as many have observed this night throughout the centuries, and as many are observing it tonight.

Time for an at-home Soka Spirit Toso. Praying for healing, an end to this pandemic, and that humankind finds resilience, peace, and happiness through it all. 🙏

Whenever I need to remind myself I have something of value to contribute, I come back to what the late James Cone wrote about my M.Div. thesis. A bit humblebrag, but I'm feeling down today and I felt like sharing.
